WHAT DOES YOUR DIGITAL FOOTPRINT SAY?
We are excited to host a presentation with the Redcliff Public Library & Redcliff Youth Centre to learn about the trail of data left behind when using the internet. We know that parents and youth can speak different languages at times - let us help make sense of all of this information for everyone involved so that parents and youth can communicate better and continue the conversation at home, together! Parent presentation will also include information on the impacts of tech and the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to screen time. Additional resources and supports will also be discussed and shared. Youth will explore the importance of their digital footprint and how it can impact them now and in the future. We're Not So Different After All: Rethinking Social Media for a Better Understanding of our Children and Youth
The presentation is developed to give parents/caregivers a better understanding of how kids use and perceive Social Media. In this presentation, parents and caregivers will gain insight into apps that youth are using that adults may not be aware of as well as some of the ways Social Media can change the way youth perceive themselves and the world around them. It will also highlight that the differences in the human experience between youth and their parents/caregivers is not as great as what many believe. The wants and needs of children and their parents/caregivers (when they were children) have not changed. It is the adult perspective and thoughtful strategies that need to change in order to strengthen connections with those lost in their handheld devices. Click here for more information. We hope to see you there! |
